Human activities such as deforestation, agricultural expansion, and pollution have significantly altered over 75% of the Earth's land surface. This has pushed one million plant and animal species toward extinction. The loss of biodiversity weakens ecosystems and disrupts the essential services they provide, such as clean air, water, and pollination.

The Earth is warming at an alarming rate, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels, which releases greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane. This is leading to more frequent and intense heatwaves, droughts, floods, and wildfires. The years from 2015 to 2024 were the warmest on record, and sea levels continue to rise, threatening coastal communities and small island nations.
